London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 – Bright Prints, Eccentric Innovators and Dalmatian Fur!

Greek Mary Katrantzou first presented her collection at London Fashion Week two years ago and instantaneously joined the ranks of fashion and promising designers, whose works provoke critic’s interest and are very popular among famous people and celebs. A master of bright prints, optical illusions and clear silhouettes used some elements of Russian culture in her autumn collection. Russian motives were seen in every decorative thing, while dresses were made of fabrics with prints similar to those on Russian toys, wooden spoons and caskets.
As a part of London Fashion Week 2011, eccentric innovator Mark Fast presented his extraordinary fall collection, where he put together incompatible things: knitted cloth items and plastic, which decorated almost all his models. While designing his bags, Fast was inspired by children’s pencil-boxes, as the result he made colorful plastic clutches filled with liquid.
Burberry Fall collection presented by Christopher Bailey surprised with a huge variety of bold colors and volumetric shapes in the spirit of the 60′s. Red, green, orange and blue coats, white fur coats and sweaters with fur sleeves, white dresses with black leather elements and a lot of check materials looked really fantastic.

Paul Costelloe offered his bright winter collection of yellow and pink short skirts and jackets, green loose and wavy dresses and check flared trousers. Light-magenta velvet jackets for men as well as the black velvet jackets decorated with different grey patterns became the culmination of his collection.
